Abiding in God’s Love

Jesus says in John 15:9–10, “Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.”

To “abide” means to stay, to remain, to dwell. Just as a branch cannot survive apart from the vine, our lives cannot flourish apart from Christ. Remaining in His love is not about occasional devotion but a continual posture of trust and obedience.

Love that Leads to Joy

Jesus reminds us that the love He gives is the very love of the Father — unchanging, perfect, and eternal. And this love has a purpose: “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full” (v. 11).

The world offers fleeting happiness, but Jesus promises a joy that is full and lasting. This joy comes not from circumstances but from staying connected to Him and walking in His love.

Living it Out

Abiding in Christ means inviting Him into our everyday decisions, conversations, and desires. It’s choosing His way over our own. As we remain in His love, our lives bear fruit — patience in trials, peace in chaos, kindness toward others, and a deeper joy that cannot be taken away.

Lord, help me to remain in Your love today. Teach me to trust You fully, to obey with joy, and to live a life that bears fruit for Your glory. Amen.
