In our last discussion, we explored the importance of being an example to others, regardless of age. Today, we’ll discuss how young people can prepare for marriage.

The most important step in preparing for marriage is developing your relationship with God. This foundation is crucial because it shapes your character, values, and ability to love selflessly. Make yourself the best person you can be, not just for your future spouse, but for God. When you focus on becoming the person God wants you to be, your potential spouse will naturally see the qualities that make you a great partner.

However, even if both of you are strong, godly individuals, marriage will still be challenging. It requires sacrifice, patience, and a deep commitment to unity. This is why it’s essential to make Jesus the foundation of your life. If your foundation isn’t solid, the challenges of marriage can cause your relationship to crumble.

Preparing for marriage isn’t just about studying how marriage works—because no matter how much you study, marriage will always be different when you’re actually in it. The best way to prepare is by learning to love others as Jesus did. Study His life, His sacrifices, and His compassion. Marriage is about putting your spouse’s needs before your own, just as Jesus put others before Himself.

Remember, no amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the realities of marriage. But by focusing on your relationship with God and learning to love selflessly, you’ll be better equipped to face the challenges that come your way. Marriage requires constant growth, sacrifice, and a reliance on God’s guidance.
